LUG Light Factory President of Board, Ryszard Wtorkowski was again awarded for supporting local athletes.

On Thursday, April 7th, President Janusz Kubicki awarded almost 100 of Zielona Góra’s athletes and sports coaches for their achievements in 2015. During the award-giving ceremony, local sports activists and businesspeople, including LUG Light Factory President of Board, Ryszard Wtorkowski, were awarded with the ‘Sports Maecenas’ award.

Supporting athletes, teams and sporting events, as well as promoting healthy lifestyles are a significant part of LUG’s socially responsible business strategy. The company is strongly connected with Zielona Gora and being involved in initiatives which support the local community has always been important for LUG’s management.

LUG sponsors the two-times Polish basketball champion Stelmet BC Zielona Gora. The company also supports sports enthusiasts among its employees. There are 15 people training together in LUG Team, who in 2015, took part in 20 running events. What is more, last year, LUG MTB Team was established, which brings together the company’s cycling enthusiasts who have already participated in a number of competitions. LUG also supports the efforts of Marek Trykacz, a decorated powerlifter, member of the Polish national athletics team.
